This is my grandma’s jewelry box. Isabelle had used it for a few years and it got some marker on it and the finish wasn’t great. I decided to strip the wood and I used oven cleaner to do it.
I sprayed the piece with the oven cleaner, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then scrubbed and sprayed it with water. I repeated that process two more times until all the finish was gone. Then I let it dry.
I love how it turned out! I love the floral details, the raw would, the color, just everything about it!
Such an easy way to elevate a piece! I actually have a collection of wooden boxes that I can add this one to.
