I love, love, love setting goals. Every December during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season I start to dream of fresh starts and look forward to the new year. I start to envision my new year resolutions and all the possibilities. And of course, since my home matters, and curating the home I love is so important to me, home centered goals are always part of my new year planning. Today I wanted to share a few of my home centered 2021 goals here with you.
Finish Our Remodel || This is a big goal, we have a couple big projects that need to be done to finish remodeling this house of ours, but we also have a lot of smaller items that need to be completed. Our two big projects are remodeling our laundry room and refinishing all the interior doors in our home. Our smaller project include replace exterior lights, lots of painting, frame bathroom mirrors, and stain our deck.
Finish Decorating Our Home || I have a few rooms that need some decorating, so I will work on getting those fully decorated. Mainly rooms in our basement, our guest room, the laundry room, my sons’ rooms, the bathroom, okay, maybe it is just the entire basement that needs some attention.
Clean Second Story Windows || We have these tall windows in our home that need cleaning. I need to research and schedule a company to clean them.
Repair Piano || Our piano is in need of repair, it plays but it definitely has a lot of problems. This year is the year to repair it.
Finish My 100 Day Organization Challenge || I started an organization challenge at the beginning of the lockdown in March. 100 days of organization. I was able to keep up with it for awhile, but decided to
Thrifted Finds To Find || I have a goal to find and buy a couple items. I’m hoping to find a library card catalog cabinet and a large wooden horse. These are items I have wanted for years, but setting an intention and stating what I’m looking for will help me hopefully find it!
Paint A Room a Fun Color || Maybe a pretty plum in the guest room?
Wallpaper A Room || Thinking of possibly doing the main floor bathroom.
Once I set my goals I decide when I am going to work on them. I love dividing my year up into quarters and assigning goals to each quarter. It helps me stay on track, even when I have to reassess and switch things around, which a normally need to do. Still having a plan, even when it changes, helps keep me on track.
Do you set home centered goals? What goals have you set for 2021?
