Today I’m sharing a simple wreath DIY using vintage buttons. I love how this darling wreath turned out.
Step 1 | Gather supplies.
- vintage buttons
- cardboard
- glue gun and sticks
- scissors
- jute
Step 2 | Trace and cut out wreath.
Use any bowl or lid that you find around your house that is the right size. Of course you will need a larger circle and a smaller circle to trace. Cut out using scissors. That center circle can be tricky to cut, you may opt to use an X-Acto knife to make it easier.
Step 3 | Glue on first layer of buttons.
I found it easiest to put the dot of glue directly onto the cardboard and add the buttons. Your first layer will have a lot of spaces between the buttons that you will cover with the second layer of buttons.
First layer complete.
Step 4 | Add second layer.
When adding this layer you want to add the dot of glue onto the button and then add the button to the wreath. Be mindful of covering those spots where the cardboard is showing.
Step 5 | Add a string of jute.
Thanks for joining me today! You can find a video tutorial for these wreath on my Instagram account saved in my highlights. Let me know if you try this fun wreath, they are really fun to put together and a great way to add some vintage charm to your home decor.
