We finally put together our living room. We returned from vacation in August and our walls and trim were all painted, floors were installed, and we were ready to move back in. Styling those white shelves was the most decorating fun I have had in a long time.
These last three plus years we have been renting or living in a fixer that was waiting to be fixed. I have felt like I have been on hold with all my decorating creativity. Even when I did a little something here or there, I knew I would eventually have to undo it, and the backdrop of stained walls and floors was not a bit inspirational.
I’ve envisioned this space for the last few years and I wanted lots of white, lots of texture, and all the coziness. I brought our white couch down from upstairs, our small table and two faux cow hide chairs for a place to play chess, and a distressed cabinet for extra storage. I ordered the rug from USA Rugs and it is soft and cozy. I added some Hobby Lobby pillows to the couch that I bought over the summer. It all came together and I just love how it turned out.
