I just wanted to update everyone on the remodel. All the sheetrock is installed, mudded, taped, and textured. The electrical is all in and ready for lights. Our base cabinets went in and our countertops were installed. We will install our island and our 8×4 island countertop once the hardwood floors are in. Steve finished one of the sinks in the master bathroom and fingers crossed that he will be finishing the second one today. We (we meaning Steve) demoed the powder bath on the main floor and we are currently tiling the mudroom and bathroom. The stair railing is almost completed and we just need to finish putting the caps on each of the posts.
The hardwood floors are scheduled to be installed this next week. After the floors are installed, the cabinets are next, and then our cabinet guy will be painting them onsite for a better paint finish. We have trim to finish up and shiplap to install on the main floor. We will also need to finish carpeting the stairs, finish the powder bath toilet, vanity, and faucet install. We have to schedule the shower door installation in the two upstairs bathrooms and purchase and install blinds throughout the upstairs and main floor. Then of course paint everything white and white and white.
I chose grey and white medium size hex tiles for the mudroom and powder and had our installer do it in a random pattern. I know this look isn’t for everyone but I just love it. Something different, keeping with the style of our home, and playful. It is coming together nicely. The powder bath will look very similar to the other bathrooms with subway tile on the shower walls and wainscoting and hex tile on the shower base. We will do another Native Trail vessel sink but this time do it in the grey color to have a cement look. I’m also thinking about adding some fun wallpaper to this space but I’m stilll thinking about that.
This remodel of ours is moving forward. We are hoping to be done with most of it by the beginning of July, but with so many moving parts that is likely to be pushed back. It is moving forward every week, little by little, and great leaps at times, but forward, and that is what matters.
