This crown was so lovely to stitch up. I worked on it this last fall/winter. It added some variety to all those letters I was stitching up for Christmas gifts.
You can find the pattern here. I purchased it on a whim, printed it out, and started that same night. Find the pattern and others like it here. I stitched it in columns, switching between columns to break it up a bit.
I was a tinsy bit worried I may get bored stitching in just one color, but I shouldn’t have worried, this had so much detail it kept me interested from start to finish.
When I finally finished, I tucked it away for a few months, so much going on around these parts after Christmas this year. When I finally went to look for it I actually couldn’t find it for a few days. I was a bit panicked, with all the purging of items from our home, I though it may have accidently been given away. Luckily I found it tucked away in a safe place.
I debated if I should make this into a pillow, frame it, or put it in a hoop. I decided on the hoop. I backed it with a lovely black and white print, just fabric I had on hand, and glued it all together. I cut off the excess and it was completed. The gluing and cutting always makes me a bit nervous because there is no going back when it is cut and glued.
I love how it turned out. I decided to add it to my growing collection of gold cross stitched items in my office.
