Introducing the The Fairy Tale Project

This year I thought it would be fun to use some of our read aloud time to explore fairy tales with my munchkins.  The plan is that each month we will focus on a different fairy tale, reading a variety of beautiful versions of each tale. We will read the Grimm Fairy Tale and the Anderson Fairy Tale versions of each and also an assortment of picture books and report back here each month with our favorites.  We may also review a couple version of these  fairy tale chapter books or movies.  On the last day of each month we will share our experience with this project here on the blog.

I have given each month of this year a different fairy tale.  Our plan is as follows.

January ||  Cinderella
February || Beauty and the Beast
March || Rumpelstiltskin
April ||  The Frog Prince
May ||  Pinocchio
June ||  Sleeping Beauty
July ||  Hansel and Gretel
August ||  Snow White
September ||  Rapunzel
October ||  Little Red Riding Hood
November ||  Jack and the Beanstock
December ||  Godilocks and the Three Bears

Since today is the last day of January, I will be sharing our first post on Cinderella.  Look for that later today.

We would love for you to join us!  I would love to know which fairy tales are your favorites?  Any recommendations on books or movies we should explore this year?
