Decorate with books. If you have read this blog for any length of time, you know that my family and I love books. We love everything about them. Filling my home with books is one of my favorite ways to decorate. I love books and many of mine tell a story.
I consider baskets of disheveled books beautiful, stacks of books on tables, desks, and chairs lovely. I have a place for books and bookcases in every room in our home. That little fact makes me feel so very blessed and happy. (Except the bathrooms, well, that may have to change.)
I have collections grouped together on shelves. My home is full of little stacks of favorite books tucked away on end tables and side tables. I have stacks of vintage books that have been added to a room’s decor. My collections of beautiful and practical cookbooks have their own shelf in the kitchen. Beautiful and beloved picture books are on display in bedrooms. These all add to my personal style and tell a story of what I love and value. I have baskets full of library books, scriptures, board books, and favorites set out by rocking chairs and on bedside tables.
I have one large bookcase that houses many of our books and I have had fun styling that through the years. I love to keep collections together and vary the way that I stack the books. I also will add in some other home decor items to the mix.
If you love to read and have books, work them into your decor. If you don’t have books, start collecting your favorites from your childhood and display them on a shelf. Books add so much life and character to your home, they tell a story, and reflect your personality and style.
