Life After Life by Kate Atkinson
Interesting. I read it for our book group and am interested to see what the rest of the group thought of it. The story is about Ursula, a woman born in 1911 in England. She is forced to relive her life, over and over again. It was so sad and depressing and never really did redeemed itself. I really love happy endings. It tried and I’m curious to hear if others liked the ending. I didn’t.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis
So funny that I have never read this classic by C. S. Lewis. LOVED it! These children’s classics that I have read as an adult are completely amazing and so very enjoyable, for me and for my kiddos.
Dear Mr. Knightly by Katherine Ray
A lovely little story filled with references and quotes to Jane Austen’s and many others like her. Such a fun summer read! I read most of it on our most recent beach trip.
The Digital Fortress by Dan Brown
A suspenseful thriller. It was a fun book but I pretty much figured out the ending early on and had to push myself a bit to get through it. The language was awful, I don’t usually read books with that much language (or any at all) and it was so unnecessary.
A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book by Elsie Larson
Very inspiring. Loved the photos and the layout of the book.
Mary Poppins by P. L. Travers
Such a fun read. My kids did say that Mary was mean in the book and I would have to agree. They do go on lots of fun adventures and have lots of fun imaginative adventures. We enjoyed the story.
Delancey: A Man, A Woman, A Restaurant, and a Marriage by Molly Wizenberg
I just picked this up from the library, not on my 2014 list, but excited to be reading it.
Watership Down by Richard Adams
I’m in the middle of listening to this book. The writing is fabulous and the story is compelling. I’m always amazed at how much an author can do with a story about animals, rabbits in this case, and how much we can relate to their struggles. The kids have been listening off and on with me and enjoying parts of it as well.
Next in line…
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
I’m so excited to start this read! I actually started it last year but had to return it to the library. I’m planning to start it over again and think it will be a great, light, fun summer read!
The Railway Children by E. Nesbit
We have this on CD and I’m excited to start this classic with the kids.
I’m looking for a couple great children’s book blogs. Any children’s book blogs that you love?
Oh, man, I adored Life After Life. I still think about it (and I read it last year). I thought the ending was just right for the book. As much as I want them to, books don't all end pretty with a bow on top … but this book felt right. I'm not being very articulate. This is my review on Goodreads, which is slightly more articulate. 😉

Watership Down has been on my list for ages! It's one of those classics I never read as a kid; thanks for the reminder!
Can't wait to hear what you think of What Alice Forgot!
