Outside my window…Spring is bursting at the seams, blossoms and glimpses of the sun fill the cloudy sky. It smells like warm earth, wood burning stoves, and sweet blossoms. So enjoying spring.
I am thinking…of my lifelong quest of slowing down, enjoying more, focusing on my word of the year, appreciating my family and the joys of motherhood, and living fully day by day.
I am thankful…my kiddos, cute photos I’ve been able to capture of my baby, relationships that make us grow, stretch, and love that much more.
In the kitchen…I tried cooking a chicken and it turned out so yummy. I’ll share it in an upcoming 35 meals post.
I am wearing…this one pair of comfy jeans (my favorite jeans are Gap Long and Lean), over and over again. I’m also loving these new striped tees I bought from Target and Land’s End, pink and white and grey and white. I notice I go through phases where I’ll really try to dress cute and fun and then there are times when I just want to be comfy. Hopefully cute and comfy.
I am creating…pinwheels for a couple projects, scrapbook pages for these last few months, and finally creating a couple calendars for 2014. I love always having crafty projects in the works. Find my past projects here.
I am going…the kids are finishing up basketball and starting soccer this coming weekend. All three of my big kids will be in soccer this spring.
I am wondering…how scents affect mood. I’m loving my Burt’s Bees lotions and scrubs, using them at part of my bedtime and morning routine. Also, super excited to have purchased more handmade soap from a home based business in Utah. Lemongrass, peppermint, and cranberry. Yum.
I am reading…trying to finish up a few nonfiction reads. A Million Little Ways, Motherhood Realized, and The 4th Thousand Year. I’m also finishing up Ballet Shoes and starting Betsy-Tacy and Tib with the kids. I’m working through my 2014 Book List. Also reading some fun spring picture books to the kids. You can read more about a recent favorite spring book post here.
I am hoping…to go on a summer road trip. So enjoyed listening to this podcast and feeling like it would be so fun and doable for our family. I’m thinking of a trip semi close to home, the Redwoods, Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone, maybe going as far as Colorado. I just have to convince my husband it is a good idea.
I am looking forward to…a future trip to a cousin’s wedding. A weekend away to connect with family and maybe have some much anticipated quiet time.
I am learning…from lovely podcasts. I’m enjoying the Power of Mom’s Podcast and Elise’s new Elise Gets Crafty Podcast. So fun!
Around the house…organizing the garage and a little in the kitchen. I’m also trying to finish up the kids room. There really only is a few things that need to be done in their rooms. I’m making lists of what needs to be done and trying to tackle a couple things a week.
I am watching…Parenthood. This really has been the only thing I have watched the last couple months (well since Downton Abbey finished.) I have been reading a lot more in the evenings and enjoying that.
I am pondering…incorporating some ideas from this post from Power of Moms into our Easter celebration. I’m also adding to and feeling inspired from my Easter Pinterest Board.
A favorite quote for today…”I really just want to be the warm yellow light that that pours all over everyone I love.” –found here via anthropology
One of my favorite things…my littlest running all over, doing, going, getting into, all through the day.
A few plans for the rest of the week: I’m hoping to get out to the garden. I want to keep working on the garage. There are so many projects that need to get done in there, and to avoid becoming overwhelmed, I’m trying to focus on just scheduling time to be out there and starting and working on any part of clean up. I’ll also be focusing on Easter, preparing for the week of, and scheduling activities to bring the gift of the Atonement and Resurrection into our home. I love this time of year.

I like all of your photos but the last two have really captured the special relationship they obviously share.
It is one of my favorites! They really are quite cute together. Thanks for visiting!
Oh how I love your pictures! I can hear the laughter! Thank you for sharing your blessings and joys! Wood burning stoves. My imagination smiles when I think of what that must be like!
So many books! Oh how I love a good book. I hope you have lots of time to read!
Your pictures are so fun. A photo-journal of sorts.
Enjoy your week.
It has been so fun to share. Yes, we have been enjoying these spring days, cool evenings and warming days. Thanks for visiting!
Yes, I absolutely adore books. As a mom of little ones, I just spend a majority of my downtime reading. I have also found audible.com this year and have listened to many books while cleaning in the morning. Thanks for visiting!
Popping in from SWDB. Loved the pictures and your post was warm and personable. Really enjoyed reading it.
