I like to celebrate. I think celebrating any holiday, birthday, or special event is such a fun part of our day to day lives. In our marriages, celebrations plays such a delightful role in the day to day of our relationship. I’m a huge advocate of celebrating the major events in your marriage.
We always talked about doing something big for our 10 year anniversary. Most people know that we went to Hawaii for our anniversary, what most people don’t know is that we almost didn’t go. As we worked on trying to schedule it, saw how much it would cost, and tried to coordinate kids to be watched and cared for, we were overwhelmed. We almost decided to cancel the trip and just do something close to home.
I’m so glad we moved forward and went. It took lots of work to get us out the door, but it was so worth it. We still talk about that trip often and know that it was worth every penny spent and all the time it took us to get things coordinated to leave.
So yes, I’m an advocate of celebrating big! It may not happen often, but plan on celebrating big together. Hawaii for 10 days was our big 10 year celebration. I’m hoping for a few more in our future. We would love to do a cruise some year and I would love to go to Paris with my cute husband. Try it. I think you’ll like it as much as we did.
