Spring Break

Last week was are Spring Break and didn’t turn out the way that I had planned. I made a list of places to go, crafts to do, people to have over, etc. Well, Monday was spent hanging around the house, enjoying a quiet day. Tuesday Steve had off. We planned to go up to Bagby Hotsprings, it was a 1 1/2 – 2 hour drive. Here we are, so excited to go. We ended up getting stuck in the snow about a mile away from the hike. NOT FUN!! We were blocking traffic and it took us a couple hours to get out. We finally got out, turned around, and headed back home, very disappointed that we couldn’t make it up. Wednesday and Thursday were spent with cousins and friends at our house. We made rockets with the kids. We managed to fit a quick trip to the mall where the kids played at Pottery Barn Kids, the Leggo Store, and the Mall Play Area. Thursday Night we went out to Jaycine and Colin’s home for yummy food and time with family.

I wasn’t to worried about not getting out and about more, Steve had Friday off and we had big plans. Well, Thursday night Steve was up with a nasty stomach flu bug. He layed around all day Friday and still wasn’t up for doing much on Saturday. Saturday night Karter started up with the same thing. What fun!!

Well, today is a new day. Last week did have a lot of good moments, slow days that weren’t rushed. Yes, we may not have done a lot of the things I wanted to do, but we have today and tomorrow. So many more good times to come. I have to remind myself of that when things don’t go as planned. There is much to enjoy, even when things don’t go the way you had hoped. And there is always so much to look forward to.
